Matt Thomases has sculpted in clay and cast in bronze more than 55 works. Recently he has been bending and welding steel rods to create large outdoor sculptures that are “drawings in air.” His bronzes are unusual for the diversity of their themes and artistic styles. The major groups include: Dancers, Abstract Heads, Cubist Landscape Reliefs, Busts of famous artists, sensual Organic Shapes and abstract Dance Calligraphies. Thomases’ works reveal a strong sense of rhythm and motion. Many have commented on his lyrical lines and the sense that music flows from his sculptures.
